From Virtual Reality to the Open Road: Earn Your Class A CDL

This hybrid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A training program combines Promising People’s immersive virtual reality (VR) platform with instruction, Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) driving practice and skills testing delivered by East USA Trucking, Inc.Students begin the course on Promising People’s virtual reality platform. Using VR headsets, students engage in an interactive, simulated truck environment that introduces key concepts such as required pre-trip inspection protocols. The VR-based training is self-paced and may be completed asynchronously or with live instructor assistance, providing flexible access to CDL instruction. Students complete the Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) course online for foundational knowledge.

Following completion of the ELDT theory component, students participate in in-person training delivered by East USA Trucking, Inc. at Seminole State College’s Lake Mary/Sanford campus (100 Weldon Ave., Sanford, FL). This phase includes up to 30 hours of behind-the-wheel (BTW) instruction as needed for student mastery of skills including range maneuvers, backing and docking exercises, and supervised on-road driving using commercial tractor-trailer equipment.

East USA Trucking, Inc., also serves as a Florida state-authorized third-party CDL testing provider, allowing eligible students to complete required CDL skills and road testing on-site upon completion of training.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be prepared to obtain a Florida Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements.

Additional offerings through East USA Trucking, Inc. include CDL exam preparation, refresher training for licensed drivers, practice driving sessions, and training to remove automatic transmission restrictions.

What Are Class A CDL Requirements in Florida?

To obtain a Class A CDL in Florida, you need to be at least 18 years old, pass vision and knowledge tests, hold a valid driver’s license, and undergo a DOT physical for a CDL medical certification card.
