The Active Listening and Inquiry module is designed to help learners develop their active listening skills. This training focuses on cultivating a psychologically safe conversation, prioritizing the needs of others, leading with curiosity, normalizing other’s experiences, and communicating respect, dignity, kindness, and positive intent. Learners will practice using natural and empathetic paraphrases, summarizing themes, asking clarifying questions to confirm understanding, and using verbal affirmations to build trust.

Learners will apply social and emotional skills in an effort to respond appropriately to shifting workplace circumstances or team dynamics, modify behavior, and generate solutions when faced with a rapidly changing work situation.

Learners are tasked with mitigating their own cognitive biases, as well as identifying cognitive biases expressed by others. The scenario is a back-and-forth exchange, in which the learner must both avoid the pitfalls of expressing bias, as well as identify when the virtual human is exhibiting bias. To be successful in the scenario, the learner must identify 3 biases before exhibiting them.

In this module, learners must utilize their conflict resolution skills as they organize an annual award ceremony for the organization alongside two colleagues with drastically different working styles.

Learners take on the role of an account manager who recently had to let an important client know that the team will not be able to meet an agreed-upon campaign deadline. The learner must effectively identify and manage their emotions in a series of emotionally charged conversations with the team members to establish what went wrong with the project.

Learners are tasked with fostering psychological safety in the workplace. They must facilitate a creative brainstorming session with their team, as well as, manage by delivering bad news to their Project Manager and CEO.

Learners take on the role of a producer at a fictional large tech company. They are tasked with filling a programmer position with an experienced candidate who can hit the ground running. The learner must interview three candidates and find the right one for the role while navigating their own biases. They will learn how to identify and mitigate the common biases found in the workplace. Powered by Talespin’s CoPilot soft skills training platform, learners engage in roleplay with emotionally realistic virtual human characters where they can experience high levels of engagement, increased knowledge retention, and greater confidence in their abilities to apply the subject matter learned.

The software requirement was put in place since productivity declined after the company adopted a blended attendance model and created rigid remote-work policies. Learners will practice virtual leadership to be able to understand what the true concerns are for the team and how to utilize technology to alleviate those pain points. Virtual leadership includes skills like modeling leadership by being present, developing shared goals, and demonstrating curiosity and cultural intelligence while working virtually.
